Transformation of Listed Silo Plant
11 February 2021
Politiken Byrum has just published an article about the transformation of Aalborg Akvavit Distillery’s listed silo plant (in Danish). In the article, Peder Elgaard from Elgaard Architecture and the client Cloud City Aalborg, which is headed by the Aalborg developer Martin Nielsen, discuss the path towards a common understanding of the task.
“Transformations of listed industrial buildings can be hard work, because – despite of the Conservation and Building Act – there are no manuals in which to look up the procedure. The old grain silo plant at the Aalborg Akvavit Distillery, which is to be converted into restaurants and an arts centre, is no exception,” says Peder Elgaard.
