Original Decorations Uncovered at Carlsberg Academy
27 January 2021
At Carlsberg Academy, our restoration of the old villa continues, and the conservators are continously finding new layers of the past of the house. The private mid-19th century home of the founder of the Carlsberg Breweries, J.C. Jacobsen (1811-87), in Valby in Copenhagen is hiding many stories about the passage of time and changing modes in the decorations of its fine living rooms.
Watch conservator Lin Spaabæk from Spaabæk Conservation uncover the beautiful decorations in the Captain’s Room and the Garden Room of the historic house (videos with Danish speak).
